The color is really a lot darker red than this. A couple of years ago I bought a huge pot of them at the grocery store. They looked like this in November '06. They had been moved to different pots after that then this past spring I put them in the ground in front of one of the birdbaths. And they are starting to bloom now.
Those are beautiful what a wonderful colour they are. Thank you for sharing them with us , it is lovely to see someones garden in bloom when mine is done.
Toni those are beautiful. A friend bought two big pots of the maroon mums last night at Lowe's. She will replant hers around an old wash pot, when they are done blooming.
What a beautiful colour - funnily enough I have been looking at them in the seed catalogues this evening.

Toni they are really gorgeous! The maroon and bronze colored mums are my favorite. I do like to mix the two darker colors with some yellow or a rich gold color to even it up.
