Well, as there is not much going on here outside for plants I thought I would take a photo of the beautiful fungus I found as we were getting wood in the house.

Interesting fungus, I take it that 'mauve' is referring to the color as opposed to an identification parameter. Was it growing on Oak?

I was referring to the color. I know next to nothing about fungus varieties. I think that it is growing on a pin oak, but do not know for sure. The wood came from a pile in the back of all the wood we have gotten this year. I should know the bark better than I do, but I have forgotten much of my wood/bark ID from school.
