hey guys i always wondered what this tree is that sits right out in front of the house.

It has leaves on it most of the time but they fall off in the colder seasons and then in spring these red bloom type things that arent quite flowers appear right before it gets leaves again.

I cant ever remember it having specific looking flowers but it does get these red things that i cant explain. Never really paid too much attention and im not sure if the snow and ice this year stunted the red flower things..

    heres some pics..

well the leaves are never red, i think i remember them turning yellow or brown and falling off.

the red things arent leaves i think they have something to do with the polination period?

the leaves are green, but often colorful in the fall. the red thingies may be the early flowers. it may not be Acer rubrum - see if these identification tips and pics help.
