Megan's Law

I have two young Granddaughters and two Great Grand children. I was aware of Megan’s Law but did not know much about it. It turns out the law makes it mandatory that convicted pedophiles information be made public. I signed up on PA web site to get information on any pedophiles in my area. I get email links that show the pedophiles photo, address, work address. auto description, license plate number and conviction/s. I also get emails when any pedophile registration information is changed. I think everybody should signup so we know where the SOBs are at.

 

The information I have seen there is no question what the conviction was for but I suspect that peeing on the bushes has been used for an alibi.

 

I live across the street from an elementary school and my Grandchildren play in the yard frequently. I think ML is good information to have available If I would see any suspicious activity or persons. this is one of those laws that may have started with good intentions but drags in a lot of people that shouldn't be on the list.

 

That is a problem that should be addressed but not by destroying Megan's law.

 

I am going to change direction here. The problem isn't with the laws it is with the judicial system. With all laws there guilty people walking the streets and innocent people incarcerated. How do you correct something like that?
