Mergansers crabbing.

    Learnt something today, mergansers like crab. Had a little time today to watch them diving for crabs.

    Kildale, I had no idea Mergansers shared my passion for fresh crab!
    We have Hooded Mergansers come into our pond, but not for crabs. I have no idea what they dive for, but they seem to be finding a food source, or perhaps just a source of amusement.

    We have merganzers here but not the hooded variety. I didn't know tht these birds ate crustateans. I'm so glad you had the time to watch them diving for crabs and showing us the proof.
