Several days ago, someone mentioned posting pictures of places in our areas where we would take visitors. Here are a few of mine. They were all taken under the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron Michigan. The bridge spans the St. Clair River between Port Huron and Sarnia Ontario Canada. Sarnia can be seen inthe background of the second two photos. The first is of a freighter, the Walter J. McCarthy Jr., heading north under the bridge. The next is one of the many sailboats on the river. And the third is of one of the many seagulls. This one seemed to want to turn his back on me.
Very nice, the water is so blue. It looks cool there, not hot and humid like La. Maybe I'll come for a visit till summer is over. LOL
The blue waters of Michigan Thanks for the instant vacation Polly. One question though, how does that freighter fit under the bridge? Does it raise up (the bridge that is )?
Nice pictures! Takes me back many years to early morning boat rides out of Kenosha harbor into Lake Michigan in search of salmon. Good fishing times.
The freighter picture is a little deceptive. There is acutally lots of room for the freighter to go under the bridge. There are actually two bridges now. Because of heavy traffic a second was completed a few years ago right beside the first.
Beautiful blue, blue water - I can almost feel the wind off of the lake. I've only seen the Great Lakes once, and that was from Toronto - it was so strange to me to have that much fresh water all in one place, instead of it being an ocean.
