I was out hitting tennis balls for my dogs this morning when I came across something in a web. I was wearing cotton gloves so I just reached out and picked it up. It was this incredibly interesting little spider. All spiny and fairly docile. I was hoping it couldn't bite through my glove. :!: I put it in the bug box so hubby could enjoy it with me. We got it out and got a few pix before we finally left it alone. It's a micrathena spider. It could sit easily on my index fingernail. So cute! It's a Great bug year here! :-D

What an unusual spider Bethie. I've never seen anything quite like it. Strangely beautiful although I'm not overly keen on spiders.

I've never seen anything like it either, almost looks like a mini-scorpion of sorts. Did you find out any interesting trivia in your research about it Bethie?

We have some strange little spider around here too, Richard calls it a bulldog spider because of the way it looks. Yours is neat, although I am with Eileen, I don't care for them.

What a great looking spider! We've got lots of spiders around our house. I just leave them to it. They catch flies and mosquitos, and I care less for them than spiders.
