    Microgreens part 1 ( photo / image / picture from kathyd's Garden )

My Microgreens are up and growing.I purchased my seeds from Pinetree Garden Seeds. I used old ceramic planters, sowed the seeds in throwaway plastic trays from inside cookies and snacks, covered with plastic and they were up within two or three days. The plantlets are thriving. I'm excited!

Looks like everything is sprouting very well. I have some things that are being lazy about sprouting. I think I'm going to cover them and see if that helps.

Kathy, those look like very healthy seedlings! Keep us updated on their progress, please.

    Pea Sprouts ( photo / image / picture from kathyd's Garden )

Here's an update...the sorry looking sprouts in the photo are the result of the great success of the microgreens. I can't leave them alone. I go by and pop off a few pea sprout tops to eat like candy. They are so delicious. My best use so far was lining them up like soldiers on my turkey and swiss cheese sandwich this weekend. Sublime! If you have a chance try them. They are super easy to grow and do great on my windowsill.

Carolyn, they are so delicious. This was special variety I bought that was sold specifically as microgreens, but I don't know why you couldn't use any old pea...they taste just like fresh peas out of the pod. I love them!

Well, no wonder the rabbits and deer and groundhogs and everything else will clean out the garden before the plants can produce a blossom.
