I've been so busy these past few weeks and time is flying by ... it's almost the end of July! I finally got the garden fence up a few weeks ago, something I have wanted since making the garden 10 years ago.

I made the sign way back in the winter, so I was glad to finally have a gate to hang it on!

I've been picking this many beans and peas every other day this week

And made pickles for the first time

We lost 2 of our 3 mature Macintosh Apple trees a few years back, so this week I finally planted a new one

Walking around to the back garden, there are a few new things that catch my eye, like this green nicotiana

    And the hot pink Mirabilis

And the new Yarrow I put in last fall - how I wish I could find the tag!

There was supposed to be a Moon Flower vine growing up this chair, but it is still only a few inches tall struggling to find its way thru the jungle of plants around it

The Daisy's and Monarda are a nice pair

Netty I love your new garden gate & fencing. Definitely a good thing to have.
That green nicotania is superb! I think I'll get me some!
I love the shot of the daisies & the beebalm. Great combo.
    Beautiful butterfly weed.
I hope Strats sees your poppy from her.
Finally, the last two photos of your garden from a distance are incredible. Beautiful gardens kiddo!

    Very pretty!
I like that Yarrow. I put some similar into a customer's garden recently. It was either "Strawberry Seduction", or "Saucy Seduction". I like those big blooms it has.

What an absolute delight seeing your garden and land.
We grow some of the same plants, so it is natural that I appreciate your garden so much.

Thanks all for the comments :)
CLAY - I wont know how the first batch of pickles turn out until the end of August. The recipe I used called for the jars to sit for at least 6 weeks!
CAYUGA - The garden fence was a long time coming! For the first time this year I had problems with rabbits so I rushed to go ahead with the fence. Now that it's up, I wonder why I took so long! It just makes the garden feel 'finished' somehow, but I am already planning changes in the layout for next year.
BUNKIE - That Nicotiana was a surprise ... I thought I had picked from a flat of all pink! I really like it though, it stands out in the garden.
KAY - I bought the Yarrow from an end of season discount rack and it was in BAD shape. I was a little reluctant to put it in this garden because of it's spreading habit, but I am glad I did :)
Waretrop, Tina, and Sjoerd - Thank You!

Beautiful gardens and great flower combinations. I LOVE that Yarrow! I have white and recently planted some of the gold (which did not live for more than a week or so - they were very tiny to start with). I'll be looking for more... and now I really need to find some red!
