We've got a chilly, wet spell, and the poor plants are sulking. Some are brave enough to bloom despite the conditions, for which I'm thankful. They don't look too happy though.

    The white vintage rose:

    The Viburnum bush:

    The variegated Astrantia:

    Geranium "Splish-Splash":

The summer flowering Primula actually likes this weather:

    Some of the Siberian iris:

The little orchid Dactylorhiza maculata "Solli 2":

    An unhappy-looking Oenothera, biennial:

The Penstemon is doing it's best:

A small shrub with aromatic leaves, don't remember the name but the cats love it:

    The creeping Rhododendron "Milde":

    Small Dianthus:

A Digitalis with a very funny-looking top flower:

And still no warmer weather in the forecast. *sigh*

What a rainbow of colours and flowers, Droopy.
That Digitalis is unusual isn't it. that top flower almost looks like a campanula sort (it's form).
I wonder if that small 'shrub'-like plant that the cat's like is inthe Nepeta family. More than likely not, but I was just curious.
The Dactylorhiza is a looker, isn't it. Quite pretty.
Your Siberian iris selection is is really nice to see. That snow white one is spectacular.
Is that the Viburnum burkwoodii...or perhaps the 'opulus'? I have the 'Burk.' and it's fragrence is heavenly even thoiugh it is tiny and only 2 years old from a cutting.
The Astrantia also has an interesting look about it.

Well, all in all, this is a great posting from you this time. One that a guy like me can be jelous about. heh heh heh
You have so many nice things blooming at the moment.
Keep us up to date with your developments please. It's all looking quite nice in spite of the weather.
    Well done....(yet again) :-D

Droopy it all looks wonderful. We had an extremely wet spring last year and back in 2004, the cucumbers loved it but not many of the flowering plants. Hope your weather warms up for you soon.

Thanks all for cheering me up with your nice comments. I feel a bit under the weather, and watching the flower stalks being beat down and flattened by rain and wind doesn't help my mood one little bit!

That little, orange-flowering shrub is from another continent, but I can't remember which one. It's not a catnip relation, I remember that.

We're going through a wet spell too Droopy and it's sad to see all the flowers drooping with the pressure of the rain. However, your garden seems to look so good no matter what the weather is like. I love all your white flowers and that foxglove is sooo pretty.

Thanks Eileen. *hugs* Shared misery is half misery, so they say. :D We try to plant things that will take the unstable conditions here, but now and then even they bow down to the elements.

Thanks Biita. You're welcome to some of our rain if you need it. I haven't made any birch tea lately. Sounds like a good idea.

The plants still look lovely, even in the rain but I hope it stops for you soon! Memories of the long, wet, summer of last year still haunt me and I empathise entirely.

Thanks Sharon. We had a miserable summer last year too, and really hope we won't have an encore. The worst is when the lily buds never open but just rot away.

For some reason my computer refuses to load any pictures after the Iris Droopy. I'll try it again later. I really like Splish-Splash :)

It's nice, isnt't it? The first time we ordered that we got the purple, slightly invasive ones, but the second order got us the right plant.

:D Thanks Pete, but the only thing we do is choose plants that like our climate.
