We've had some really pretty sunsets during our mid-Winter here in the north-east of Oz. Here's just a couple of shots ...

Gorgeous! :D I thought at first this was an old topic until I realized that the southern hemisphere has winter now. How cold is your average winter temp?

Droopy ... yes it's mid-winter downunder. I live in north-eastern Australia where winters are very, very mild. Our average daytimes temps hover around 25 deg C or 77 F. Night-time temps are usually around 12 deg C or 53 F. It's glorious weather for us. You can imagine with temps like this for our winter, our summers here are not all that enjoyable.

Thanks Eileen. I've only just noticed that you can see the damage to our verandah hood in that second shot. Half of the hood wrapping the front our our verandah was ripped off during Cyclone Yasi earlier in the year and we've been waiting very patiently for the repair work to commence. I should have cropped the shot a little!!!

Hi Netty, yes that's the average winter temp here during the day. For around nine months of the year though, our average daily is 30 - 32 deg C (86 - 89 F). High humidity levels add that extra touch during those months as well. That's why we love our winters soooo much!

I don't know how I'd go in winter weather like that, Philip! It would be a shock to the system for me.

My youngest son has just moved over to Ireland and he's not looking forward to the coming winter at all.

Great videos, Philip. Definitely a winter wonderland. The dogs seemed to enjoy their walk ... Molly by the River Shannon was a cute shot. Loved the swan too. But after all the snow and freezing fog, I need a hot chocolate!!

I'll have to subscribe to you YouTube channel ... I noticed you've got a few clips of your garden there as well. I'll have to have a look at those as well.

As for Luke, he spent just over a year living in London, but I don't think the winter there would compare to central Ireland somehow.
