We went to the Midway Barbecue cook off on Saturday. It was cold, windy and it probably didn't make 60 degs. The sun did shine though. I wore a sweatshirt and my leather jacket and I was still cold. He said if he went to the store he would pay thirty dollars for it. close up of the barbecue aprons ( photo / image / picture from dooley's Garden ) Windy day for barbecue cook off ( photo / image / picture from dooley's Garden ) tote bags and assorted items ( photo / image / picture from dooley's Garden ) Other than the competitors, we were the only ones selling anything and they put us right by the door. The Mushroom Festival was in Madisonville and they had lots more people. I dislike the whole crowded mess of that. We were happy where we were. dooley
Do you make all the aprons and the bags? How do you have time to garden as well? I must say that you don't often hear of people offering to pay more for an item, perhaps you should consider raising your prices
Okay, now for the important question--did you get any barbecue? Given the choice between barbecue and mushrooms, take the 'cue every time! Your booth was probably placed right by the entrance as a "come-on"--something to attract the crowds (and I bet it worked!).
Yes, we did get some barbecue. We had a plate overflowing with brisket, beans, potato salad, lovely sweet onions(according to dr.)and bread. Far too much to eat so Chance had some when we got home. It was a great day but our friends didn't win anything. They had fun though. dooley
