Anybody suffer from either? I have been taking a magnesium supplement for the past month or two and I have virtually had hardly any of them since then. so, iffn you suffer give it a try.
As stressed as this week has been I will say I haven't been overly plagued. woo hoo! they are so debilitating. I read where most of us are deficient in magnesium and it can cause a multitude if issues and the top one was headaches and migraines.

Many years ago I dreamed that I was hit on the back of the head with a shovel, that was the way at least one of the migraines I used to get started. Sensitivity to light and sounds, nausea .... had it all. The last bad one I had was not long before my second daughter was born and there was nothing the Dr. could give me to help it.
I had to have a complete hysterectomy when she was born and haven't had a migraine, or a tension headache (those are almost as bad) or even a sinus headache since then.
They run in my family, my dad would be in bed for days, me and my oldest daughter has them. I'll get my oldest a bottle of magnesium.

Our daughter has benign inter cranial hypertension so has constant headaches. Basically, she has too much fluid around her brain. She can have a stent put in when she is older if they become unbearable to drain the excess fluid, but her neurologist would rather monitor for the time being as she is only 17. She manages them well, only occasionally having to take painkillers. Someone else told me about taking magnesium, but they linked taking too much magnesium to heart attack risks, and as she also has high blood pressure, we thought it better to try and take more magnesium in her diet, however, when she next sees her neurologist, we are going to ask.

I take magnesium for irregular heartbeats! I was having irregular heartbeats most of the time and was finding it hard to do anything at all. The cardiologist recommended the magnesium. I take one morning and one at night with meals. I haven't had the irregular heartbeats since then and that's been about six years now. dooley

I read that 80% of all people are deficient in magnesium... wow. I am glad that such a simple addition is keeping you well.
no chance of a hysterectomy here. I seem to be as healthy as a horse. I am thankful for that, but gee what a loss .

2 things I'd like to contribute here. First is about someone I know. He had terrible headaches, and they could be brought on by just about anything. No medicine worked for him. Until one day it was discovered that when he was young, he had a tooth filling in upper jaw. The tooth cavity was very deep, deep enough to have required a full root canal. But since he was young at the time, it was decided to just do a regular filling. In the hope that maybe the natural dentin from within the tooth will eventually grow around the new filling, and the nerve would recede.

5 to 6 years after that, he started complaining of unimaginable headaches, and no one knew what to do about it. And so he continued to suffer like that for maybe 15 more years. Until that old tooth filling became lose and fell out. After which he had to have a proper root canal procedure - So instantly after that, absolutely no headaches of any kind!!!

Now the other person who also suffered a lot from migraines, is me... And exactly like many others, no one around me knew how to help. Until one day (about 12+ years ago) I discovered that whenever I wore mirrored sunglasses outside, I didn't have too many migraines. So soon after that I started trying out polarizing sunglasses, which seem to work great also - However ever since I found these polarizing sunglasses which are mirrored also, is when I haven't had a single headache since! :D

I am not nearsighted, nor suffer from farsightedness either, in fact I have slightly better then average vision. But too much light is something I cannot tolerate very well...

S=H, tooth decay is nothing to let go or easy to tolerate when it becomes painful, There is hardly anything worse than a toothache. I would rather give birth. It is much easier. I am glad that person got his tooth fixed, but that is awful.

I used to not tolerate light very well either, but my eyes were bad. I was very near sighted. then I had lasik surg. done to correct it and that really helped, but magnesium deficiency makes for a multitude of ill side effect. Give the mag. a chance if you have it available to you. what are you out to try it anyway? You may find it helps more than you expected.

That's the surprising thing about it, it was a problem with the nerve ending in his tooth, but since that tooth was properly caped with a filling - Nobody believed that it could have been the tooth which was causing such terrible headaches. He himself also complained of headaches, not a toothache. Guess that nerve was somehow making his head throb, (instead of the tooth)...

More or less the same story with me also, as my eyes are fine, actually better then average. But whenever I'd come from outside (specially when around midday, when it is unbelievably bright over here) - I too would get headaches. Some people told me to cut sugar from my diet completely, others suggested to cut the intake of salt. However nothing worked. It was only by accident that I discovered it was my optical nerves which are a bit hypersensitive to strong light... So once this was taken care of, no more headaches.

The subject of neurology (specially when it comes to how pain is felt) is indeed a very complex one to fully grasp. And I think many things in this branch of science are still unknown... For example, another person that I know always complained chronic lower back pain, as soon as she reached the age of 25 I think). She too tried everything, (both conventional as well as unconventional), but still relief... Until it was discovered that her teeth were not meshing together properly, her since her wisdom teeth came. So when she had all 4 of them extracted (2 in the upper jaw and 2 in the lower) - Her tooth alignment again fell back into place, and back pain soon vanished.

By the way, I just remembered something else - About another person who suffers from migraines. This person served in the military, and is a veteran of heavy artillery. His condition however has no cure. As he, in his youth (while on duty as an artilleryman), accidentally inhaled a lot of howitzer propellant dust - Which is I think is nitrated cellulose, better known as Cordite, (a smokeless explosive made from nitrocellulose, nitroglycerine, and petroleum jelly, used in heavy artillery). So the only thing that now brings him any relief from migraines, is if he smokes marijuana. Otherwise nothing else works for him...

So like I said, the subject of neurology is indeed a very complex one to fully grasp. We just can't be sure about what could actually be causing migraines. Even the experts in neurology often admit that sometimes they too are completely clueless.

Dad got terrible headaches after his TBI in Iraq. I'd never seen him down and out until then. A friend of his recommended cannabis and while he was never one for drugs he tried it out and boom no more headaches and he really didn't even use it much. Now Iowa has legalized cannabis extract. Its done wonders for him. They were so bad that he said he litterally couldn't see anything but black and could only hear what he called fuzz when he had a migraine.
