did you know that migraine sufferers also have cold hands and feet? I just learned that this morning and never put the two together. Now, isn't that strange? I have had cold hands and feet all my life. I get sickish if my hands are warm  . is that weird?

Mine is a migraine plagued family. My Dad used to get them so bad that he spent several days sleeping in a totally dark room. His included sensitivity to light, sound, smells, being touched and he always threw up if he put anything on his stomach before it was totally gone. And yes he did have cold hands and feet.

Mine, and I too have cold hands and feet, always started out like a shovel hitting me on the back of the head, I spent days in bed in the darkened bedroom. No food but I only had one that made me sick to my stomach, that was when I was pregnant with my youngest. Since I had all my 'female parts' out when she was born I haven't had a migraine since then.

And my oldest daughter has them with all the same problems as her granddad, she has cold hands and feet.

I do believe there is a pattern here

Yep there must be as my daughter suffers from migraines too and has cold hands and feet. I'll buy her some footwarmers and insulated gloves for her birthday and see if they help.

Interesting, I wonder if the cold hands and feet are just an indication of being prone to migraines? I have warm hands, I don't check my feet and I don't get headaches. In my 20's I had two migraines about a year apart that lasted all day, could not eat anything. The migraines were gone the next day. Hmmmm.... my mother never had headaches.... I will have to ask my sister if she gets any. The next time I find a migraine sufferer i will have to ask. Or better yet, I may ask the nursing staff the next time I am at the health center, if the two are interrelated.

My husband suffered from migraines until about 15 years ago. I changed our diet--less sugar, and more vegetables and fruits. He hasn't had a migraine in over 12 years. After seeing the pain he endured, my sympathies go out to anyone who has migraines.
I personally have never been prone to headaches. I give them, I don't have them!

I have a migraine prone family, too. My mom and one of my sisters, my daughter and I get them. I have even had them without the pain  now that is as bad as the migraine with the pain. I also found feverfew is supposed to support your vascular system and help strengthen the blood vessels. I get them ...well anytime. Stress seems to be the biggest influence for them, though. The weather change is probably the next trigger.

Used to get migraines. Didn't know that is what they were at the time. Just hurt like the dickens. Doc put me on some kind of 'blocker' blood pressure med, and I haven't had a serious one since.

The missus gets them really serious fairly often. She used to take Imitrex. That caused a spasm in the lower left descending artery on her heart. Almost a heart attack. She doesn't take it anymore.

I had seen many people claimed that they were having migraine but never knew that it can be that serious. I guess those people were just having acute headaches or just trying to get out of work because they were not given sick leave after a visit to the doctor.

I have migraines with out the pain. Thank god. But I lose my eye sight and mobility for hours or days. Scares me to death that sight will not come back.
My daughter has with pain and has to enject herself or go to emergency room. She has suffered with them for 30 years along with food allergies. We have been reading labels for ever. You would be amazed with what has red dye in it. Her #1 problem ( White Canned Frosting) WHY? The meds are so expensive she can't always afford them.

Migraines are a bugger, had them in my 30's due to hormones, so needless to say I rarely get them now.
Thats an interesting issue having cold feet and hands. One "tip" I'd read about was for a sufferer to submerge their hands into ice cold water when they feel a migraine coming on. It's suppose to draw blood from the brain down to the hands which is suppose to perhaps curb the discomfort. Everyone is different with what helps.
