My mom gave me that recipe about 30 years ago and I don't make it very often it is soooooo rich. But I am going to bake one to take to an "End of the World" party Friday night so I figure if the world is going to end on 12/21 all those calories won't matter

When I saw the words Pet Milk I thought it was literally that...milk for animals :D I thought "Now why on earth would I want to use that!?" I generally buy Eagle Brand. I have a can in my baking cabinet that Ive been wondering what to do with...I may just have to make this!

Well, surprise surprise! I didn't know what Pet milk was either, is condensed milk the same thing. We have condensed milk which is very sweet and sticky, evaporated milk which comes out of the tin like regular milk.
Also another shock to some...how much does a stick of butter weigh?

    AND no laughing!

OH by the way I DO know what a milky way bar is!

No, evaporated milk and condensed milk are not the same. Condensed milk is much sweeter than evaporated milk, when I was a baby (way before store bought formula was available) evaporated milk and sugar was the food of choice for newborns. Condensed means cooked down to make thicker and therefore sweeter....evaporated means water has been evaporated from it.

The two are not interchangeable, if a recipe calls for evaporated milk do not use condensed milk....way different products.

Chocolate, here a stick of butter is 8 tablespoons also known as 1/2 cup and also known as 1/4th pound....most recipes here use measurements of volume and not of weight.
