I loved the photo tour Palustris! I was able to identify most things, but I am wondering what the vine is in photo #78? I LOVE the aerial view photo, it really gives a better idea of the size of the property and the amount of work involved! I showed it to my family and said "we should do this to OUR yard"! What a piece of Heaven on Earth :)

I see a nice clearing where I could camp out for the summer. :whistling: I'd even help you weed just to be able to spend time in your garden. Many thanks for all the photographs - it's always a pleasure to tour around your property.

The Vine is one commonly known as Chocolate Vine as the flowers are supposed to smell of it. Proper name is Akebia quinata.
    Glad you enjoyed the tour.

Such a lovely place you have! How on earth do you keep up with all the weeding , watering and trimming? Do you have someone help you take care of them?

Very rarely do any watering, except of things under cover. That takes a couple of hours.
There is just the two of us, but I retired a long time ago so we can both work at the garden for as long as we wish. Helps no end.
Cutting the grass takes us about a morning or so.
Lots of places in the garden rarely get weeded as such.

The weeding is my biggest problem here. I just can't seem to keep up with it. I don't know if it's because I'm surrounded by pastures or what but the weeds are relentless. it also could be because my husband mows the acreage we have and there is no catch for it so everything flies all over the place. How big is your property?
You and your other half do a wonderful job. I just love looking at your photos.

Looks bigger than it is, there is just less than an acre. Friends from Texas think it is a tiny garden. They have 7 acres of garden and 30 plus acres of woodland and reckon theirs is a small 'yard'.

Palustris, I love love love your garden. It is truly a beautiful place with many different areas, each distinct from the other. I also like your photos & the mix of individual plants & the garden as a whole. Where are you located? I don't remember & with this new Garden Stew format, I don't think I can find out.

Congrats to you, hats off to you as a master gardener!

We are in the West Midlands of the UK. Very West Midlands to be exact, almost in Wales.

It's a beautiful garden and looks much larger than it is. I love the walkways and that you can't see all of it without walking through it and the many kinds of flowers, trees, and shrubs that you have.
