Modern ambulance

    I had the misfortune to be able to ride in a modern ambulance the last of October, 2008. It was a first, but I don't care to repeat it.
    I wouldn't have wanted to ride in this one either. When you got to the field hospital common treatment was to saw off the wounded limb. They gave you a bottle of whiskey to deaden the pain. (If they had any)

    There is a lot to be said for modern conveniences.

    You're right there Dooley. I certainly wouldn't fancy a ride in the one you've shown us if I was injured or sick. :eek:

    We have an Amish community in our area, and those horse-drawn carts are a common site on the highway. Can't imagine traveling in one at this time of year, though, here in the northwoods.

    Driving a horse and carriage in winter is cold. *brrr* I'm glad we've got nice, warm cars.
