We are still having warm weather, it has reached 90 degrees 76 days this summer  ...two more and we will set a record that was set in 1936. Between the heat, lack of rain & mosquitos it has been a very uncomfortable summer. I am grateful that we have an irrigation systems. It has also been a record year for my water bill! The birds and butterflies have rewarded me with their visits to the garden. :D

These are the most recent photos from my garden.

Gorgeous, gorgeous fotos, Gail. I love the rich colour of those butterflies and the goldfinch. The flowers are looking good as well.
Pity about the water bill...but needs must be sometimes. As you say, you were amply rewarded.
That hummingbird is something to behold.

    "perennial annuals"---I like that expression.

Awww. *wiping drool off my chin* What lovely colours, and such pretty flying friends too. I'd happily trade you 40 mm of rain for ten of your degrees. :D

I can only dream of having hummingbirds and beautiful butterflies like yours in my garden Gail. However, it's a real joy to see your visitors and to drool over them all. Keep those brilliant photographs coming as I really enjoy looking at them all. :D
