We are still having warm weather, it has reached 90 degrees 76 days this summer ...two more and we will set a record that was set in 1936. Between the heat, lack of rain & mosquitos it has been a very uncomfortable summer. I am grateful that we have an irrigation systems. It has also been a record year for my water bill! The birds and butterflies have rewarded me with their visits to the garden. These are the most recent photos from my garden. Gorgeous, gorgeous fotos, Gail. I love the rich colour of those butterflies and the goldfinch. The flowers are looking good as well. Pity about the water bill...but needs must be sometimes. As you say, you were amply rewarded. That hummingbird is something to behold. "perennial annuals"---I like that expression.
Awww. *wiping drool off my chin* What lovely colours, and such pretty flying friends too. I'd happily trade you 40 mm of rain for ten of your degrees.
Gail, As always, absolutely fantastic photos! I envy you your garden and your skill with a camera. Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden and its denizens with us. We are awaiting the arrival of our first goldfinches of the season. Anyone want a grackle?
Beautiful pics! Im definitely going to have to do more Zinnias next year, I have a few but I want my garden to look like yours
I can only dream of having hummingbirds and beautiful butterflies like yours in my garden Gail. However, it's a real joy to see your visitors and to drool over them all. Keep those brilliant photographs coming as I really enjoy looking at them all.
So glad you all like my photos...it give me great pleasure to photograph and share these beauties. Thanks for all your wonderful comments.
Fantastic shots! The colors are so vivid. I especially love the Goldfinch photograph as well as the Hummingbird. Wow!
