We still get quite a few cranes around here... and every once in a while a stray pelican. They can act so goofy at times, but also so graceful.

Oh I'd love to see birds like that whilst out walking. We do have Blue Herons and, now and then, Little Egrets, but nothing as spectacular as yours.

Love those birds. My hubby just got back from 3 wks in FL, he also said the wildlife was everywhere. He saw gators, a cougar, turtles, tons of birds and then there are those tiny critters that buzz and bite - the dreaded mosquito!

Bottom photo looks like the sandhill cranes that are endangered. I lived in port st lucie for 6 years and they roamed all around our neighborhood. We even had wild hogs roaming in our yard then. Once had an opposum in my washing machine when I left the garage open. Florida is great for wildlife. Been here my whole life and couldn't imagine living anywhere else!

It isn't a sand hill crane. They are more brown and have red on ther faces. It may be a blue herring. But I'm not sure what he/she is. I will look it up tonight. The Sand hill cranes are always picking around in my yard. I love them. They are always in pairs and lately we have seen mom, dad, & baby but the babies are big now. They just walk on up look at us then start eating what ever critters they can find. I'm hoping they eat all the stink bugs.
