As we are snowed in (another 4 inches or so overnight, 8+ inches of settled snow, drifts even deeper) I have started resizing some more pics of our Kew Garden and London visit to celebrate my 40th birthday. I shall add to them as I resize more.

There are wonderful avenues of stately trees all around the garden.

I love these gates, the entry to the experimental veggie garden. I was dissapointed to see no winter veggies at all in the garden. :(

Views of the stunning palm house. Victorian architecture at it's peak.

The fountain on the lake at the front of the palm house.

A closer view of the palm house.

Some of the monster palms and trees within the palm house.

This is the view along the narrow walkway around the roof of the palm house, looking along one of the corridors. See how rusty the metal work is. I can't imagine how they get up there to paint it. A good head for heights I guess.

The beautiful cast iron spiral staircases at either end of the house to access the walkway.

The view down the huge bamboo cane. Apparently in the height of the growing season, if you stand there long enough, you can see the bamboo growing.

Another avenue of trees to the Pagoda.

I was then very brave and went on a tree top walk. Boy was it high, and it swayed ever so slightly in the wind.

    Here I am looking nervous.

And the view of the glass houses.

And me holding on for dear life.

Wonderful palms in the other glass house, whose name escapes me.

And lastly, me on the spiral stairs in the second glass house.

These fab flies were loitering in amongst some banana plants. They appeared to be made from old recycled tin cans and other metal objects. I would love a couple in my conservatory.

The beautiful lily pond. A few flowers, but of course, in the height of the summer, they would have put on quite a display.

All I have to say is simply amazing. That place is beautiful and I want to go really badly. I think I could probably get lost in there for days.

EJ, thanks for showing the photos. Fantastic plants and buildings. The gate to the veggie garden is gorgeous. Probably too warm in there for winter veggies but I wonder why they of all places wouldn't have a garden area for them?

Oh man, I really enjoyed these EJ.They brought back such good memories. I went up high in the glass houses too, only it was summer and too darn hot to have done so...but how delightful to look down on everything.

I just keep looking at these pics over and over again. It´s been too long since I was there. KEW is such an important place, on a number of levels.
    Keep the pics coming.

Talking about snow: Everybody seem to get snow but us. We need some.

Oh these are so nice to see. Thank you for posting them, EJ. I have put Kew Gardens on my list of places I would love to see in person. Really lovely. You were brave to go up to the tree top walk to see the world from the Bird's eye view. Really nice. Got any more? I hope!
