Amazing what a few days of sunshine can do,isn't it. After a period of sustained high winds and rain this has cheered us(and our plants) all up. First off is my new favourite Aquiligia and the first I have ever bought,McKana Hybrid, and is absolutely stunning. Way cool, Kia. Your Aquilegia's are looking quite spiffy. Now then.....I have seen the first instalments tonight of the Chelsea Flower Show. My question is...What day will you be attending? I am well excited for you. miss.
Yes, now I remember you saying that. My brain isn't what it used to be. Well, have a smashing day and then come on here (if you have the puff) and tell us all about it.....annnnnd post Pictures, pictures, pictures, and then MORE pictures. Have a good day at the Hospital.
Hospital? Karin, One of the things I like about your photos are the backgrounds. In these photos you have the same flowers as the subject out of focus in the background. Gives your photos such a pretty look. Makes the viewer think this is one flower among many of its kind in the garden.
Thank you CM. When Mark first bought me an SLR camera I didn't know much about the technicalities and how to achieve the effects you mention. So I played around for hours and took hundreds of shots -mostly of flowers-just learning what settings did what. That and having a really good Macro lens.Basically the results are from having a really low f-number and being quite close to the subject which gives a really shallow depth of field(only a little bit is in focus and everything else is blurred. Oh and don't worry about 'hospital', we are going to the world's biggest flower shower in the grounds of The Royal Hospital in Chelsea,London. If you google RHS Chelsea you will see what I'm talking about.
Thanks for the tip Karin. I figured the 'hospital' had something to do with the flower show, but it made no sense to me!
