More Monarchs,or as I was told Viceroys...

    Here are some of my favorites from my collection...The monarchs are on a hydrangea tree that I have in my garden...around my patio.

    Look closely at a couple of them...I caught a fly and a bee with the butterfly...

    I never seem to be able to get close enough to butterflies to get great piccies like yours. :( They stand out perfectly against the white of the flowers. Oh ... I spotted the fly and the bee btw. :-D

    you have to stand still and stand back a little.

    Most of them fly fast...
    Ps I seen fly an bee too.

    Really nice photos Sherry. We seemed to have more Monarchs than usual last summer.

    Beautiful photos Sherrie. Yours is indeed a Viceroy and a beauty. My butterfly book asks...."Does the Viceroy gain protection by mimicking the poisonous milkweed butterflies (Monarchs), or does it actually taste like week-old roadkill? The debate may go on forever, with no one ever knowing for sure."

    Kratz, your Monarch photos are beautiful too. We were on the far outside edge of their migration path this year and only saw a very few fly thru.
