a pink woody hibiscus - I forgot its name, but I've had the bushes for years in pots. They seeded themselves in other pots & I have about 6 new ones growing

Your Dianthus looks very good, I like your little planter arrangement there. The Gerbera colour mix is lovely. I've never seen a hibiscus like that, it's so pretty. :D

I can always remember the thrill of finding a lady bug (or ladybird as we call them) when I was a wee lad. Used to let them crawl around on my hand and arm for ages :)

I like your planters WT and the colour mix is just right for them.

    planters

Well, my daughter's taste in garden & household accoutrements bugs my wife, but I indulge it. I know the swan planter - plastic at that - is a bit cheesy, but my daughter liked it, so I bought it.

Years ago, I played a joke on my wife by buying 2 plastic pink flamingoes & putting them in the front yard for the neighbors to see. I got a good laugh out of that!

I love the flowers, it is good that you encourage your daughters love for gardening, her cheesy taste will disappear with her teenage years. lol

    Re: planters

And why not? They're only small once, and the happiness that shines out of their eyes when they're pleased with something is well worth a few shocked looks from neighbours.

Your yard is beautiful. Love the Gerberas ... are they sitting on a chair or is there a hole in the chair for the pot. I'm looking for an old chair to cut out a spot for a pot of ????

    Gerberas

This pot of Gerberas is sitting on a very short stand, which I sunk into the ground a bit to prevent the wind from blowing it over. The pot itself sits about one foot off the ground and it's right close to a lilac and another plant stand with some red petunias in a pot. Behind that is a red climbing rose. It's getting a little crowded there, so I'll end up moving the metal plant stands to another location, before they're totally obscured by the lilac & rose.

Gee, I have one of those plastic geese things. I have begonias in mine. They haven't grown much this year but it's early on so maybe they will. Your daughter has good taste, it's the same as mine. Or maybe I'm having a second childhood. dooley

    swan

Actually, my wife doesn't like the swan planter at all. When I brought it home, my daughter used it as a bath toy before she let me fill it with dirt.
