We stopped at a little hardware store today and there ia a garden center next to it. We went in and they had gotten their seeds in the day before. I got a blue picotee morning glory. The pic shows it as a double, but the description on the back says single and double, very pretty. I got Malabar spinach which is a climber, both ornamental and edible. We got two different gourds also, a dipper gourd and a birdhouse gourd, but they are not shaped like your traditional birdhouse gourds. Hope they do good.
I will start some spinach in my wheelbarrow soon. That will keep it away from the ants. I love spinach right from the garden. It sounds like you will have lots of morning glories this year. Dooley
I have to try to find a climbing spinich my mom grew hers on an old timey bedspring.Daddy put two metal poles in the ground far enough apart to put the springs down over it on each side .It was perfect to run green beans spinach on ,are any climber.
I grew malabar spinach once but didn't like the taste. I think I will try it again since palates change. I bought some seeds at Wal-mart since they didn't have any bulbs. I got filet green beans and some swiss chard and sunflowers for now. I want some Italian green beans too. Happy growing! 8)
Wow those guords sound great! I would love to have access to a greater selection, but over here they really are seen as a novelty, and a lot of people aren't interested in growing them if you can't eat them! I love them and am going to try much harder with mine this year now that I have swotted up from Bethies drying instructions.
