Today is Alamo Heroes Day in Texas. We commemorate the fall of the Alamo, as all the defenders were killed by the Mexican army under Generalisimo Santa Anna (don't worry, the Texans got him good a few weeks later!)

Anyway, after the history lesson, here are some more shots of Spring in West Texas:

    Daffodils

And just about to bloom - Forsythia!

Adorable narcissi, and just look at those hyacinths. :D The funny thing is, our Forsythia is at the same stage, isn't that strange?

    eileen,

Can you grow black & blue salvia there? It is the deepest blue and attracts hummingbirds bigger 'n Dallas!

Lovely! Spring is definately more advanced in Texas compared to us over here in Essex. My mini peach tree has buds but I reakon it will be a month before I see any blossom, however I now have daffs starting to open. YAY SPRING!

Your daff-lined walkway is beautiful. Keep posting those spring pics for those of us who have a few more months to wait!
