My goodness, GG--you are getting off to a really good spring start. Those flowers are just beautiful to see. Maybe you should invite the committee over to have a look. They might want to invite you to be listed in the Yellow Book. They are truly lovely, one and all.
There's nothing better than coming in here on a Monday morning and seeing beautiful photographs like your GardenGirl. Those hyancinths must have the most gorgeous scent. I love the white ones alongside the blue - of course I would as blue and white are favourites of mine in the garden.
Thanks for the compliment Sjoerd but I fear the committee would not accept me as, compared with some of the gardens in the Yellow Book, mine would only take about half an hour to get round
Nice to see some spring blooms Gardengirl. Your Tulips have the most interesting foliage...do you know the name of that variety? And what is this "Yellow book"?
Netty, the variety of tulip is a dwarf one called 'Pinocchio' with very nice striped foliage. The Yellow Book is compiled by the National Garden Scheme who visit nominated gardens and judge whether they are good and interesting enough to be viewed by the general public. If accepted the owner of the garden opens their garden for maybe a few days and charges a small amount which is donated to a charity. The owner also has to provide refreshments for their visitors.....so as I said before, I don't think my meagre plot would be good enough Here is a link whch you may find interesting http://www.ngs.org.uk/
Thanks for the link Gardengirl...what a great idea. There are over 3600 gardens included in that book. Impressive!
GG what a beautiful group of flowers you have. Love all the colors. Definitely brightened my day. Thanks for sharing.
GG, thank you! I needed that. It will still be some time before we see our tulips, but the primrose time is drawing near.
I am in love with all those blooms but those tulips are to die for .In fact all of your blooms are just gorgeous.
