Well, a week has passed since our boy was taken, so a day loosing myself on the allotment was planned - good medicine I felt. It has been incredibly windy here in Essex, and today was no exception. I picked another huge basket of tomatoes and still they are going strong, which I have to say I am THRILLED about. I also gathered a small crop of beans, they haven't done so well thanks to the lack of summer rain, and picked some squash to store for winter soups and curries. I also gathered some hedgerow blackberries and elderberries, and gathered all of my windfalls to make what I call 'Jessica Jelly' - you see, daughter number one doesn't like jam with 'bits' so I use all the odds and sods and strain it and turn it into jelly just for her.

Anyhow, I will update my blog shortly, but in the meantime, here are todays harvests.

Gardening is the best medicine EJ. I haven't had a great bean year either and we had lots of rain. Your squash looks delicious :)

Oh yeaaaaaaah...That's what I'm talkin about!
    Look at that harvest.
It is amazing what can take place during a few days' absence, isn't it?
    This haul looks really good.
I sure do like the looks of those toms! ;)

Beautiful produce. :stew1: Someone is going to be eating tomatoes. We just had a lovely dish made with fresh tomatoes tonight. Gardening is good for the soul, glad to hear you are taking care.
