I need to make room for gardening in between my virtual archaeological digs and the salt sea water. Here's some fresh water stuff to start with:

As I walked through the garden I realized there were quite a few nice blooms despite the rain:

I think "Ilga" is a very pretty lady ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden )

The bees were very busy. I like to watch the bees.

All in all not too bad I'd say. :D

Not too bad at all Droopy. You certainly have lots going on in your garden despite the weather. I love that waterlily - such a delicate yellow. :-D

Droopy--You have some very unusual flowers! You have so many flowers that I am unfamiliar with, such as Zigadenius elegans, & Cephalaria gigantea.

I love the look of your mother's visiting water lily. There is something particularly beautiful about a flower that is just opening. I love the lilies too; llga & Valse Triste are great. Valse Triste looks like a Turk's Cap. I have all but given up on lilies due to the presence of the red lily beetle.

Thanks for sharing the photos. Nice to see what is blooming in each other's gardens!

Lovely blooms Droopy. I like Ilga too ... such a different color than I am used to seeing. Your Rose is gorgeous I wish I could smell it! Gee, you just made me wonder what has happened to my 'Lucifer'...I don't remember seeing it this year.

Beautiful photos of beautiful blooms Droopy. I particularly like the yellow water lily mine is just the boring pink variety, when it blooms that is, doesn't oblige every year :stew1:

Thank you for liking our blooms. :D

I generally use the Latin names since I'm not familiar with all the English common names. When I check they're Mountain Death-camas and Giant scabious.

We've got them too. I have to admit I gave up on squashing the beetles and larvae and sprayed beetle poison on my lilies this spring. Since then I've squashed the few beetles that have appeared. We have a lot of lilies.

We almost lost ours because of the hard freeze and no snow. Luckily a few bulbs survived, but none of the orange Crocosmia did. :(

Your mum selected a beautiful water lily for you guys. Has she seen it in bloom there?

I liked your fotos so much this time....those lilies! Those are really performing for you, aren't they?
I have to say, I haven't seen much beetle damage at all on those.

The Centaurea is looking particularly nice. That bumble bee is a pretty colour. Isn't the Crocosmia looking good.

All in all, it is pretty darn exotic-looking there. You have done very well this year, don't you agree?

Very nice. My fave is all those lilies of the same color.
And the dark red ones... how come they look at you? Mine always look shily to the ground...

    Thanks all. :D

Philip, I've got the tag somewhere but I can't find it now. The rose is a very old type that grows into a huge bush and flowers once. I guess you know the type, you've probably got them around there too.

Calin, it depends on the type of lily you've got. The turk's cap type are hanging ones, and there are a few other types who either look straight ahead or downwards. Some turn their faces up. I guess you'll have to see the lilies bloom in order to pick the ones that will look you in the eye.

Haha, that's what I always think. I can't choose one over the other. Anything in bloom at the moment is my favourite.

Mother hasn't seen it open yet. She's only seen the bud. I need to fetch her one of these days. Maybe tomorrow. Thanks for the kind words. I haven't done well at all, you should see the sea of weeds, but some of our plants perfor well despite the neglect.
