With no wind, probably because it was rotten and the berries were heavy, it came down a few minutes ago. Wrecked a bit of my rail I use for the birds but it can be fixed, when the tree gets moved. 01 a tree down.jpg

Yikes,..thankfully you were not near the fence when it fell,..i am always amazed when i see a tree has fallen across a path i take,..mostly after a strong wind has passed,..thinking of course it could have come down as i went under it,..sad to see a tree end its days when one has it in a garden for years.

Thankfully there wasn't any more damage. It is sad though to see a tree succumb to its fate like this. Will you be planting another in its place?

A couple of sapsuckers were in the tree soon after it came down. This is the Red breasted Sapsucker, I didn't have to go far for this shot. 01sapsucker.jpg

What a shame, but how typical of you, Kildale, to take a photo of the sapsucker on the fallen tree. You made lemonade from a lemon!

The sapsucker was back today. I have only seen it these last two days this year. Tomorrow the trees goes. I hope it hangs about the other trees. 0001 red sapsucker.jpg
