Well I had a tissue graft done on Monday and I never expected my mouth to be feeling this good already on Thursday. They cut a piece of the skin off on the roof of my mouth and put it over the front of one of my roots that were showing in the bottom of my mouth...It is called a frenectomy ?...I think the worst part was all the shots to numb your mouth, top and bottom..I never did like shots in the mouth. I have been eating soups and a lot of pudding and it has really helped...so if anyone ever has to have it done, it is not as bad as it sounds...Sherry

My daughter went through extensive mouth surgery when she was younger and she said the same thing that you did Sherry. Not half as bad as it sounds and the results were impressive. So glad everything went well for you. :-D

OOps I goofed...the other procedure I had a few months ago was the Frenectomy, trimming of the muscle attachment that runs from the gum tissue in the area of recession to your lip...that wasn't much either. This was called the Connective tissue graft, I just hope it works. He said sometimes it doesn't ...Sherry

    The procedure is not cheap...

And I found myself hiding my mouth with my left hand while reading this thread. :D I'm glad it sounds worse than it is, and I'm glad you're done, Sherry. :D

Glad it went so well and you are already recovering nicely. Soup and puddings huh, a good comfort medicine. :)

So glad all went well Sherry. I'm with you on hating shots in the mouth. I have issues with my teeth so I can send my hugs to you and hope that you keep healing well.

Just had my first check up on the procedure and the dentist was quite pleased...I was told I cannot brush the front area for a month and that I cannot or I am not suppose to bite into anything like apples, sandwhiches,etc...anything that pulls on the front of the mouth....when I ate chocolate my teeth ached so I guess I am done with that for a while..

As one who has had countless visits to the dentist for one problem or another I can sympathise with you Sherry, especially about the cost. I think my mouth must be the most valuable part of my body.
So pleased that everything went well, hope it continues to improve and you can get back to enjoying your chocolate.
