I hope this is the right place for this. My sister has this pretty honeysuckle vine and she really needs to move it. It's way to shaded and gets powery mildew every year. It rarely ever blooms, again, too much shade. It is a pretty well established plant but I'm wondering if we can move this to a sunnier spot. Any suggestions would be welcome Marsha
They are tough to kill. Now would be a good time to move it (I see you live near me)...get as much of the root system as you can and cut back severely on the top growth. I always use a root stimulator when I transplant anything to help prevent transplant shock. You may loose the blooms for this year, but I'm sure it will come back strong next year.
honeysuckle Yes, they are hard to kill. You shouldn't have a problem moving it. Just make sure it's got some room to move around so you avoid the mildew -- our grows in every direction!
When i lived in the states,, i couldn't kill mine and i moved it all over the yard, because the more i made it small the more it got big. so i had to keep moving it to bigger and better out of the way placed... You should have no problem.
They don't like too much water, so to avoid the powdery mildew, cut back on watering. Once every 5 days is plenty.
