As I started mowing our vacant lot (about 1/2 acre buffer between us and the junky neighbors), I kept noticing all these pretty little weed flowers. So I stopped mowing and got the camera to capture their cute little faces. So I mowed some more. Then it hit me. If they're pretty enough to photograph, why should I mow them all down? It really looks pretty... even my "good brother" commented on it yesterday. So... time to compromise. I mowed around half and left the rest alone for now. Here's an overview of the field. field of weeds ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Mostly you can only see alot of these tall purple flowers. And the Spiderwort. weeds - tall purple ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) spiderwort ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) And more.... pink weed ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) weed - white.. looks like Alyssum ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) weeds - tiny white ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) weed - yellow clusters ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) And this one is just plain ugly... from a distance. Weed - ugly ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) But the flowers, up close, were so pretty. Weed - ugly close-up ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) So... I decide to check out the pasture since it was covered in yellow. Weeds - yellow patch ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Weeds yellow - closer ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) And then some "regular old clover". clover ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Last year I put some Spiderwort and Pink Shamrock in the old wheelbarrow. Spiderwort ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Shamrocks - pink ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) And just the other day I "rescued" some Salvia Lyrata and also put a piece in the wheelbarrow. And some of this clover with yellow flowers. Salvia Lyrata ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Weed -- clover with yellow flowers ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) So now the old wheelbarrow is now my WEEDbarrow! Thanks Michael. I had planted some Begonias in there not long ago. I moved them in another pot just to make room for the weeds. I think there's something wrong with me!
