Thanks eileen, They amuse everyone around here. I have 4 feeders for them up , an I seen them at all of them . Around dark time they came often. Comical lil things b
I've tried, believe me! :-D Either they are too fast for me or my camera is too slow for them! I've gotten photos before... but nothing as close and sharp as your's.
Great shots! One year I was priviled to watch a make doing a courting dance. The female was at the feeder setting and the male was hovering a little ways away. First he would fly up, then fly down. Then he would go from side to side. He did this for about 10 repiticians. It must have worked because they flew off together! Their use of my feeder has slacked off some now. All of my Honey Locust trees are in bloom. The trees really hum between the hummers and the bees. But the blooming is just about done so the birds are coming to the feeder a bit more.
