I don't know my mushrooms,..sadly!,..as there are many forms growing here,..our Polish visitors go mad to get to the islands and collect the edible ones,..here are some shots i took on an island named "Hare Island",..i took these shots 3 years ago.

Great pics Philip. I love hunting around in the countryside looking for fungi. I don't pick them just take photographs of them.

    Hi Eileen,
as you know i live within 200 yards or less of the River Shannon,..and can head upriver to Lough Ree where there are many islands uninhabited,..this island i captured the pictures was the island where they discovered the biggest hoard of Viking gold in Europe,..some day i might stumble across some more,..you would be at home exploring here.

OK I'm packing my bags now Philip. I'll borrow my eldest lads metal detector and off we'll go!! Who could resist all those different types of fungi on a deserted island with the possibility of some Viking gold thrown in? :D

Apart from all the fungi,..you could find something,..and many people do,..by accident!,..i have never really searched,..and i would say there is lots more to find,..we know there are at least 100 Viking Ships sunken on the lake,..but i never heard of anyone coming across one,..nor divers looking.
