This morning she was gone. I have been watching her for about 2 weeks. She dined on mostly katy-dids. And
left me with a large egg sack.

Bless argiopes' little hearts! Around here their diet is mainly grasshoppers. I'm finding egg sacks festooning the tool shed, under patio chairs, and dangling off the guttering. Not only are they pretty and useful spiders, but they have a strong inventive streak when it comes to placing egg sacs!

Wow she is really a neat looking spider. I love our garden spiders as they do eat many bad bugs and a few good ones. But they are wonderful to watch.

I haven't seen one in my gardens this year. Always loved to see them and find their egg sacks. Nice photos :)

To my surprise this morning, I have another or maybe the same Argiope by my greenhouse. Will be keeping a close eye on her. She's very skinny now.

I've never seen a 'pregnant' spider before. What great photographs. :)
