My old Asian pear trees had fire bright disease many years ago but I controlled by removing infected branches. Last year, these pear trees suffered from anthracnose leaf spot caused by the fungus. In fall, I made sure to remove all fallen leaves from ground and got rid of by putting in trash for trash collectors to take away. This year, these trees look much better but still I see black spots in some leaves. What can I use to control these anthracnose leaf spot disease? I was doing research on internet and found 'Green Cure' and 'Serenade'. Which is more effective and safe to spray on these Asian pear trees? My main concern is our environment therefore I am not interested to buy toxic chemicals.
Hi, this can be a problem in my garden too. Here is a good website that talks about how to control it. Looks like the fungus can winter over on small twigs as well as the leaves. http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7420.html
