I was going to vote for the wisteria first but had a change of heart and plumped for the Don Juan instead. I think it would look superb.

As you know .I will be sending you the Wisteria .You can decide what to do with it.Its been so hot .I'm a bit slow gathering all of it .I'm afraid it will die .I do have some seeds ready in packs .I do worry about shipping the potted plants but found a box last night I think it will protect them hopefully.

I have plenty of wisteria ,It is almost to my brothers house thats about a quarter of a mile it is impossilbe to kill .Believe me I have tried. :( It is the most beautiful blooms I ever saw in every dead tree around .My Redbuds ,Black Walnut,Catalpas Oak are dead .This beautiful Wisteria chocked the life from them.I'm to old to fight it anymore .If anyone wants some of it let me know.

Wisteria is beautiful but since yellow roses are my favorite flower, I have to vote for it.

I think I like the Golden Glow too for that. Don Juans and wisteria will just kind of take over it I think.

The trellis is made of cast iron (I love cast iron anything!)

My vote is between the clemis, passion vine or yellow rose.

But it doesnt matter, Im using whatever you guys say I should!

Yeah I know. From what you were telling me, its sounds like you have a Chinese Wisteria (purple flowers). The Japanese has bluish purple flower.
I have plans for that little guy!
I am planning on covering thetop back side of the deck and letting the potted(yes Im keeping it potted) grow up and over that area and have a sitting area under it.

Pinkie ultimately it's your trellis and you will have to look at it everyday so I doubt anybody would be put out if you decide to choose otherwise :D

I could only vote for one, but I'd choose clematis, then Don Juan, or both.

Oh yeah I know. The reason for the vote was Robs idea because I had myself confused! HAHA! I wanted this, then that...then back to this. I wanted everything to grow on it at some point...LOL :D Rob finally said," Denee! Stop! Ask your friends on that garden forum your on. Doesnt someone on there have one? They can help." God love him. :D

So here we are. I cant make up my mind so I am letting yall do it.

Why don't you plant the perennial on one side and annuals like morning glory on the other so you can have a lot of blooms while the other is growing? I interplant things like my silver lace vine with red cypress vines and that looks really good. 8)

Ohhhhh good idea! I will have to wait and see what gets to grow there! Then I can find a color to go with it!

It looks like the Don Juan is winning so I would have to find something that will go well with a dark blood red.

Im planning on putting this archway on the path that leds to the front steps of the deck. I want something thats inviting and calm. Do you think the white and pink clemis will work this red rose? Or should I find a white or pink flowering vine?

ORRRR I can go with my wild and crazy personality and use the Japanese wisteria with it. Dark red and bluish purple. :D

Heres another thought. I am planning on growing a Moonflower vine next spring. I think that would work very well with the dark red.

This is all new to me. All the help you can get me would be great!
