My son and daughter-in-law and my 4 granddaughters came to visit for a week! So much fun!! They meandered across the country in an RV, sightseeing along the way, for a couple of weeks, with Nashville as their final destination before taking a different route home. I have a large family, the rest of whom are here in Nashville, and my house was the hang-out place for everyone. It got really crazy! But it was also just endless fun. When the family gathered, there were 10 adults and 7 kids under 10. Quite a madhouse in my little home. A bunch of us with another set of grandparents at the restaurant that my son Devin manages. This is shot number .... 12 I think it was .... just trying to get a decent photo of all my kids and their spouses, and the grandkids together. Still not great, but you should have seen some of the outtakes! And the cousins: I made my daughter Paige be part of the shot because she's carrying cousin/grandbaby #8!
What a lovely family! You must be so proud that they made your home a destination all the way from California (not to mention exhausted after all that visiting!).
You must have been exhausted after everyone left. I can just imagine the fun you all had though during their visit. I love it when my family comes to our cottage but have to admit I'm relieved when they go home too.
Happy family times! What a great looking family, and I am sure you really enjoyed having them. Now is time to sit back and rest after such a wonderful time
Thanks, everyone. It was such a blast! I tried to convince my son to stay a day or two longer. But he's a firefighter/paramedic with an additional 3 other businesses that he runs with his wife, and 80+ employees, and after taking almost a month off, it became imperative he return home on schedule. I will say that as hard as I tried to get them to stay longer, and as sad as I was to see them leave, it was still quite lovely to get my house back! Luckily they left on a Thursday morning and so I had the rest of that day, plus Friday and the weekend, to return the house to its original condition before going back to work, so I was a cleaning and organizing fiend for a day and a half after they left. The house sure did feel empty and too quiet though until I adjusted! It's Corey's 40th birthday in August, and Mayra, his wife, is planning a huge birthday bash for him, so I imagine I'll see them again fairly soon. August is going to be a busy month...that's also when I'm holding my daughter's Baby Sprinkle for baby #2, (my 8th grandchild) when our new sliding glass door is being installed in the kitchen (the back door that leads out onto the deck) and when both my dogs' yearly dentals are due! Whew!
