Hit a few junk shops, but most were to high dollar. This caught my eye and my purse. Bottles are 4 inches tall and the basket is made from chicken wire.

Yes I do Cheryl. Sea salt, Pink salt, smoked jalapeno pepper flakes and chili pepper flakes. Going to top them with corks.

They should look even better once they're all filled. Just the perfect size too to fit in any kitchen.

Donna, great find! They will give you years of pleasure, and fond memories of your vacation in California (better than a postcard!).

Cute, Donna! They will be even sweeter when you get your salt and spices in them.

That is indeed a cute-looking thing. How will you use it?
Will you display it somewhere in your home, or outside as a garden ornament...tell.

Good morning Sjoerd. It's very small. Going to put spices in bottles.
So where is your next trip?

Oh man, I really love this find!

Until you said what you'd use it for, it never occurred to me that it would be anything other than decorative. I was thinking of it being a lovely, unique centerpiece for a table, with a colorful flower and a piece of green in each bottle, and colored stones in the bottoms of them.

Excellent thing to get! However, be a little cautious too - As those bottles are actually from discarded medical supplies. So wash them well please.

I know because I too buy these bottles in bulk (by the dozen), from the recycling centers - Because they are very cheap, and great for storage and other experimentations. Since they have no threads for a plastic or metal bottle cap on top - Is a telltale sign that they were used as drips, or for something else related to the medical field (perhaps even for veterinary use).

So like I had said above, please wash them well (with dishwashing detergents + hydrogen peroxide) before any kind of use. :stew1:

Oh, I see. I didn't realise that they were so small. Putting spices in them is such a good idea. What will you use as a stopper, or top?

My next trip will be to Dordrecht and den Bosch to visit a gardening exposition. It is the largest one in this country and goes for four days each year. I'm looking forward to that. If it isn't raining too hard I shall do a bit of hiking as well.

    Filled jars

Jars have been sterilized and filled. I cut champagne corks for the tops. And added little felt pads to basket, so it won't scratch my new counters.
