With a name like that, the flower must spend a long time with introductions when meeting other flowers! :)

I don't know why I haven't grown this.I admire it.It must be fairly drought tolerant to grow in Iowa this year.I can't believe I'm already saying "next year I will grow or not this or that".Sign of a true gardener,I guess.

Yes hummer likes it-for waiting line for feeder. And butterflies also. Had many past couple days. Stem is very THICK . when cutting them down in fall -use big clippers. Gets kinda droppy extra hot sun. Good drink perks up.

Very pretty, I haven't seen one before. I think I have read about them in older English novels though.

Nice that the hummingbirds will come for a feeding!

It is really pretty...I have found that just because hummingbirds, etc. like something in one area of the country, it isn't always popular in yours. I think they go to the native flowers for the area first. ...I find in my yard that they go to native flowers first... I wish I had room for something as big and pretty as that one.

Wow that is really beautiful. I to love the color. I was just checking out how to grow them. It said that they like a cold spell to help the seed germinate. But it also said that they attract Japaneses Beetles and they can really destroy the plant if not kept under control. I would love to try it thou. :stew1:
