Though not ready for pics yet, my first seedlings are coming up. I've never started seeds indoors. It's fun and they are only getting a little daylight and at night I turn the house lights on them for a little while. I planted some in peat pellets last wknd but the ones coming up right now are in potting soil mixed with starter that I planted on Feb 14th. I am doing tomatoes, peppers, and some herbs. This is a fun adventure. Helps with the "long winter blues". :-D
I was contemplating starting some seeds off indoors too. However, the greeenhouse door is frozen solid and the compost is in the greenhouse along with the plantpots. I guess I'll just have to wait a little longer. I'll look forward to your photographs meantime to keep me going until everything thaws out. :-D
I haven't started mine yet.I will be starting mine in the greenhouse but I don't want them getting leggy.
good for you lily13! can't wait to see some pics. has any one done any winter sowing? all our 'kids' are guard dogs...here's lizzie guarding some of the winter sown pots...
Started a Plumeria, Not doing that well, but it should'nt be that long before its true leaves. It takes up to three years to flower from seed. Look at these Plumeria: http://plumeriaforum.com/lofiversion/in ... t1117.html Stunners! The Blackberry Lily of course is on taget. Sown a seed of Calendula. The reason 'A seed' is because last year I sown a whole packet too early, they never appeared.
I'm trying to put pics on here; having to downsize them and that tends to make them blurry. I'll eventually get some good ones. Check out the lily I put on here and see if you know what it is called. Thanks! 8)
I am starting seeds too. My are tomatoes and peppers, they are just getting their true leaves. I am also starting the new perennials for my butterfly garden re-do. I may be jumping the gun a little, but I just have to get my hands dirty! This so cool being able to talk to other gardeners! My workmates aren't into gardening, and just look at me strange when I start talking flowers!
We started several herbs, some tomatoes, hot peppers, and lettuce and most of them are starting to get their true leaves. Good luck with yours! It's fun to grow inside while I wait for the spring to come.
