From a little pea a mighty plant shall grow. :) An evening stroll down Philip's garden. Thank you Philip.

Wow Philip, beautiful. My sweetpeas are only about 8" tall :( . Not sure if they will get big enough to bloom before the snow flies. Your mystery flower looks like a Primrose. Great looking gardens. :stew1:

Oh you lucky thing!! The neighbours' cats P'd on my sweet peas and killed them all off. :'( Obviously your cats have better manners as your sweetpea is lovely. Do post more photographs when others bloom for you as they are a favourite of mine.

I've heard that if you rub a well know pain relieving gel onto teabags and spread them around cats will stay away. I'm going to try it as I really don't want them killing off any more of my plants. It doesn't harm the cats so don't worry it just stops them from toileting and hanging around.

By the way the plant that you are unsure of is a cowslip as I have them here too. Mine are in full flower at the moment too. :)

I wonder why I can't grow Brugmansia here if you can get them to grow in Ireland? Do they overwinter in your garden or do you dig them up and transfer them indoors?

Yet another question. Are those purple petunias scented? I'm sure the are the same ones I had in hanging baskets a few years ago. I think I'll plant more next year as they put on a lovely display.

    Hi Eileen,
i must be VERY lucky with my Sweetpea as i have eight kittens and two cats at present, :D .

Oh about the Cowslip,'Primula veris',..what i meant was its in flower now,..it being a Spring flowering plant,..sorry my bad description.

Interesting about the "Cat Deterrent",..you must tell me the name of that pain relieving Gel,..i do have one type,.. though its £10 per tube,..i could get a cheaper one,..well a free one as i can get free medication, :) .

About the Petunia,..the Plumb Veined,..i just went into the garden,..had a sniff,..couldn't get anything,..unless its a gentle scent,..because its next to my several species of Mint and Lemon Balm,..not forgetting the strongest scent,..the Curry plant.

Brugmansia,..i have sown the seeds this year for the first time,..Double Purple,..and started them off in the hot house,..no problem starting them,..some were attacked by insects,..but survived,..i have also sown seeds this week to see is there an improvement with the warmer weather,..oh i have seeds,..not many!,.. for the begging , ;) .

Philip... you said your SweetPea was a "big one". How big? It sure is a beauty... as are the rest of the blooms.
I love that last photo... like I was walking right through your garden.

Philip thanks for the info about your brugs and petunia.
My cowslips are flowering their hearts out right now although they're meant to flower between March and May. Mine have always bloomed from late May to early July for some reason.
