My first tomatoes out of the high tunnel ( photo / image / picture from carolyn keiper's Garden ) I finally got a few ripe tomatoes. Yea!!!! and I see a few more getting ripe on a couple other varieties, also.
Oh I wish I could reach in and taste one of your tomatoes. My plants haven't even produced flowers yet. There's just nothing as good as the taste of fruit and veggies you've grown yourself is there?
Don't those things look nice. Its just the beginning for you, isn't it? They are going to be thrilled to see you coming with those at the market.
I eat tomatoes like candy, nice candy. No tomatoes from farmer Brown yet. I can be in Ohio in16 hours. Jerry
Thanks. Jerry you may be waiting for a few more weeks from farmer brown. We built a high tunnel last fall ( and I thought kevin was wacko to try this. we went and dismantled a 15x45" and a 30'x40' greenhouse structure last fall and brought them home and rebuilt them) and got our plants in around the first of march. we surrounded them with those handy little "wall of waters" until may 1st and then started our 2nd crop outside in the garden and move the wall o waters to there. no ugly ones yet. although that does happen to us also. Sjoerd and Eileen, they will be thrilled to see these at the market. there is nothing like a fresh from the garden tomato, is there? I agree. I never buy the ones from the store, other than the little orange ones or grape ones.
