Your veggie garden looks like mine. One single tomato plant in a big pot! My cousin planted and is maintaining the "real" veggie garden. But mine is so much easier to weed!
I think that's a very good start. Easily maintained and already bearing fruit. Just the experience to make you want to expand next year.
