This is the first time for many years that I've had forsythia, daffodils, hellebores and tulips all flowering at the same time.

A couple of photographs of the rear of my back garden (taken today.)
The other half has our patio, large garden shed, greenhouse, garden arch and garden furniture in it. I'll show you that bit later as it's full of lopped branches, bags of weeds and garden tools at the moment - rather messy to say the least.

As you can see I like an eclectic mix of plants growing together.

Now, in contrast, my very low maintenance front garden.

Both sides are very much the same so I've only shown you the one. The little acers in the middle of each section are just coming into new leaf. The planters have miniature marigolds and impatiens in them.

I love it- especially the stepping stones and the moss on the rocks around the pond. You people just keep inspiring me and I fear I will never be done ;)

What kind of tree is that on the left side of the top picture? The one with the small wheel under it.

Your garden is so pretty. :D Wish I could stroll around it with you. I guess the blooming together is because of your late spring? It almost makes it worth it. :D I want a pond like yours, it's lovely.

Great garden Eileen! I especially love the pond. What kinds of plants do you have growing in it?

LilyJunkie the tree with the yellow blossoms is my forsythia. The wheel is actually around 2 and a half feet in diameter.

Droopy - yes the weather held up almost everything but you're right it makes it all worth while. :-D

FlowerFreak22 I have lots of different plants in the pond. Oxigenators that are mostly under water, water soldiers, marsh marigolds, water forget-me-nots, bog bean, iris (3 colours - white, yellow and purple), cuckoo flower, monkey flower, cotton grass, loosetrife, water lilies and spearwort. I'm sure I've missed some but these are the main ones I have.

Very nice and peaceful place you have there, front and back.
The eclectic mix of plants around the pond sure do look good together.

Your gardens look very, very nice Eileen. Really luxurous with lots going on. The water feature looks especially cozy there. BTW--did the frogs and their eggs survive?
You and your man have done a lot of hard work there and it sure paid off...in spades!

I thought I'd lost all the frog spawn Sjoerd. However, even although the water was frozen solid after it was laid, most of it survived. The pond is now full of tadpoles so no more cleaning out until they leave.

That is a great looking garden Eileen. Lots of work has gone in that.

What a beautiful garden Eils. And all the more impressive that you just use organic methods.
