My Scots Pine, it was passed down to me by my uncle. It is going on 37 years old. This picture was taken last year, I found it lying around on my computer. It is by far my largest bonsai to date.
I saw a Scots pine at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh a few years ago and it was more than 150 years old. I have never seen a more gnarled and twisted tree but it was asbolutely fantastic. Your tree must have been heavy to hold up like that - thank goodness you didn't drop it.
Actually this one only wieghs about 73 pounds. And the gnarled look is atually becoming very popular quick. I think that is what I am going to do with my Juniper. I most likely am going to dead wood it and give it a few jins.
