My latest marine walk.

    Had a good outing today, the tide was going out so a lot of the animals sit there with their mouths open. The only thing then of course is you have to photograph them through the water. This was new one for me.

    These worms live in a tube and only have the tentacles out when feeding. The whole thing is only 4" long so you can see that the feeding parts are very small.

    This is another that you can only see like this when they are in the water feeding. Out of the water they look like an orange cucumber hence the name, Orange Sea Cucumber, Cucumaria miniata.

    I've always loved going 'rock pooling' as you find the most beautiful creatures in the pools. We're off to Shetland in a week so I'm hoping to get some pictures like yours to post when we get back.
