When I first put my new room together back in Sept. I had brought in many plants in

Not alot of heat comes thru the room vent so I set up a small portable heater. Trying to adjust the heat in my room this winter has been quit the challenge. When the room warmed up too much I noticed my plants dried out and withered out. So I lowered the heat to barely comfortable. Now my plants seem to be thriving better. Here is a pict.

I should be starting seeds soon. Geraniums should have already been started but since their only for me, I guess I'll start them soom also.
I have decided something from bringing this many plants in and that is: As much as I love my plants I'm not sure I want to bring them all in again next Sept. I think I'll only bring in enough to put throughout my livingroom and my diningroom area.

Well Petunia, I think that you did a really good job bringing your plants in. I'll bet your man wasn't too pleased with all those plants though.

You know, to make all those plants look smaller and in fact take up less room--you could prune them generously when inside and stalled out.
This would cut down on moisture loss through the foliage and they could better "rest" with less stem and leaf to feed and support. Just an idea.

Werll, maybe you weren't happy with all those nice plants indoors, but I tell you it looks like you did a good job of keeping them.

I think all houses should have a plant room in addition to bathroom, bedrooms etc... :D Maybe all guest rooms can be converted to plant rooms :stew1:

Glad you have the space to have a plant room. I put a few plants in the garage & cut them back. My african violets hog all the good light windows in the kitchen & bathroom.

Your plants look nice and green Petunia. I'd be tempted to cut them back now so they grow back in nice and bushy before they go back outside. I have devoted part of my back room to plants I overwintered and have come to the same conclusion as you ... I won't be bringing them ALL back in next winter.

Gail-Ive seen your violets you've posted, they are very pretty. Mine do not all flower at the same time.
Netty-I really do love my plants and flowers and thought this would give me something to keep busy with over the winter but its beiginning to be too much of a good thing. So yes maybe only half of what I had this year will be enough.
