My daughters and I went out to spend the day with my Mom yesterday. Had a great visit, took some pictures of the scenery but they only prove that I was right about there being very little or nothing pretty about our scenery, I might post some later. But, Mom told me that there is a new Museum in Eastland which is a town about 10 miles west of Ranger where she lives and they asked the Ranger Historical Society to allow them to put the quilt I made for them a few years ago on permanent display in the Museum. We didn't get as chance to go see it before we left but will when we go back out there next month. I am so tickled and honored.
What a tremendous honor, congratulations Toni! I'll bet it didn't take them more than one look to agree to display that gorgeous quilt, in fact, I'm sure they feel very proud to have it.
ohhh wow, you should feel honored,, that is absolutely beautiful,,an the detail is just,, i have no words for how beautiful it is... thank your for sharing.
That's quite an amazing quilt Toni and a fitting location for it. So great that lots more folk will get to see it. I hope you don't mind but I thought I'd link to your blog entry that gives more background info about the quilt http://www.gardenstew.com/blog/e285-88- ... ciety.html
Just think of all the people that will look at your quilt over the years and be amazed by the detail and the amount of work that went into making it!!! Congratulations Toni - a well deserved honour!!
That quilt is absolutely gorgeous Toni! What an honor to have it hung in a museum. I just read the link Frank added to your blog...hope your finger has healed. If would be such a shame if such a talent couldn't be used.
What a beautiful, intricate, delicate piece of work. and such a great honor betowed on you. ALl that detail. WOW. :-D I feel so proud that I know someone whose work is regarded with so much respect that it is on display in a museum.
Thanks everyone and Frank thanks for posting the link to my blog entry....I forgot to do that obviously I am really anxious to get out there next month to see it on display. Mainly because I want to make sure they know how to properly hang it. I had given the Ranger Historical Society president an instruction sheet that she gave to the Museum. And yes I know that Museums have curators who are schooled in the proper handling of pieces, but I just want to double check
