I have had this awesome plant for 3 years now and it blooms every year! I even split it and planted another bush elsewhere in my yard and that one is doing well too. But guess what, I have no idea what it is! Any suggestions? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...09828864277.1073741831.100006158257637&type=1
My mom used to have them in her garden many, many years ago. I believe you may have a bridal wreath spirea there. There are quite a few different cultivars out there, some single and some double blooms.
I agree with Ginny... Spirea. They are in bloom around here now. I picked up a couple, but not sure I want to plant them. Although I love them when they are in bloom, they do tend to look a little straggly the rest of the year.
You guys rock! Yep, I think that's what it is. I am in the southeast. Thank you so much for your help. Yes, it does look kind of blah in the summer, but the display is so beautiful it's worth it!
I was going to vote spirea too. Now, I doubly do, hearing that you live in the south. I have another white flowered shrub that blooms early, just after the forsythia & before the spirea. It is from Korea & is related to forsythia. The white forsythia, Abeliophyllum. If you like spirea, you might like it as well. Mine is still covered in snow as I write this, or I would include a photo.
Hey DirtisCool, if you go into the 'Plants' section of Gardenstew & look up Abeliophyllum distichum (Korean White Forsythia) you can see a photo I took 2 years ago. Keep in mind it was a division from a friend's white forsythia (thus small) & the photo was taken 2 years ago. Every year I get a better display. I'll try to take a more recent photo when it blooms this year.
